About Me

My peers and colleagues call me Fon or “Fonz” — yes, like the original Fonzie from Happy Days. As a fourth-year medical student pursuing pediatrics, I bring a unique perspective shaped by my multicultural upbringing in Queens, Lipa (Philippines), and Guam. This diverse background, coupled with my father's influence as a pediatrician and my experience as an EMT, has fueled my passion for addressing healthcare disparities in underserved communities. I am committed to providing compassionate, culturally competent care to children from all backgrounds.

My academic journey combines clinical excellence with technological innovation. With strong foundations in pediatrics, including NICU and inpatient ward experiences, I am also deeply invested in leveraging technology to improve healthcare outcomes. My research background, including a publication in the Journal of Neurosurgery, underscores my commitment to evidence-based medicine. As I approach residency, I aim to integrate my skills in patient care, biostatistics, epidemiology, AI coding, and public health to increase access to quality healthcare for disadvantaged children, bridging the gap between medical expertise and technological advancements.
